Over the weekend, we celebrated my sister-in-law to be’s final weeks as a single woman in Minneapolis. Rachel will be marrying my brother Michael on Sunday, May 24th (stay tuned for pictures). Rachel is the third from the left with the long blonde hair. Many of you may recognize Rachel, as she has worked at Elegant Bridal almost as long as I have!
Rachel’s friends and family are fabulous women….we had a great time celebrating with her.

I had such a wonderful time working with Krista, her mom Mary and her sister Megan. Krista is gorgeous , and the first time she slipped into the “Nora” dress by Essense of Australia, I knew it would be the one. This dress features a fabulous beaded bolero and amazing tulle pleated hemline. She finished off her look with a lovely russian tulle veil and earrings by Meg Jewelry of course! Over the weekend, we had the privledge of working with many lovely brides, while we featured the Essense of Australia gown collection. There are 10 happy ladies that decided to wear an Essense of Australia wedding dress on their wedding day. Congratulations! I posted a few pictures of gowns that were selected at the trunk show.
I have really loved the WTOO line of maids dresses by Watters and Watters. They have so many flattering styles in amazing colors and are affordable! My brides sometimes have a hard time picking just one dress for their maids so, they let each girl pick their own style! I think this is such a fun look and it allows all the girls to feel beautiful the day of the wedding. I now carry the Watters line of maids dresses as well. They are a little higher in the price, but feature luxurious fabrics in rich and vibrant colors.
Two years ago at the Chicago Bridal Market, Meg, my fabulous jewelry designer, introduced me to Stephanie James of Stephanie James Couture. She had the most adorable whimsical display and it was black white and pink ….my favorite! I fell in love with so many of her gowns, but didn’t know how they would do in the Madison market. This past September at the Chicago Bridal Market, Meg Jewelry and Stephanie James Couture were next to each other. I spoke with Stephanie again about her amazing gowns and how I loved them, but again was unsure about bringing them to downtown Mount Horeb. With a little help from Meg and a lot of sweetness from Stephanie James….I now have three of the most adorable and sassy Stephanie James gowns at my boutique!
It is so much fun when I get to help a circle of friends find their perfect wedding dresses. It started with Kaylan Sweeney about 2 years ago. She was so great to work with and had a lovely wedding party. This is when I met Katie Udelhofen, one of Kaylan’s bridesmaids. Well, Katie is now engaged (to my right in the picture) and is now one of my lovely brides. Katie’s wedding will take place in May. When Katie was looking for maids dresses several months ago, I met one of her bridesmaids, Emily Holcomb (to my left in the hot pink sweater). It just so happens that Emily is now engaged and I am lucky to have her as a bride as well! This is a picture from the day Emily was in looking for a maids dress….don’t you just love the bamboo green silk gown we are all hugging? I think it might be the one!

This gown is so Carrie Bradshaw for all you “Sex and the City” fans. However, I had a lovely bride in the other day and she looked amazing in this dress….her name was Miranda. I think Carrie would understand.
